STATEMENT
Building her practice around the understanding of painting and photography – as coined by its rooting in the Greek words ‘phos’, meaning ‘light’, and ‘graphê’, meaning ‘drawing’ – an unconventional symbiosis between mediums allows Copenhagen-based artist Astrid Bryder explore everyday object’s and perceptions as visible wavelengths; light dissolving into forms or textures of light and color.
Her works embody a playful yet melancholic intersection of imprints of visible reality and abstract expression, transcending her imagery into works that explore themes of visual memory within perceptual processes.
