STATEMENT
The overall theme that I work with, in painting and writing, is questions about existence. It is not the material world that first captures my attention, but what shines through the surface—the inner life.
I strive to highlight the underlying soul, mind or shine that often is kept hidden inside a person or the atmosphere in the room. My personal goal is to paint in a way that the surface of the canvas disappears leaving merely the deeper emotion in the artwork.
Trying to comprehend life and wanting to give a voice to what is not otherwise said, is a clear thread in my artistry.

My contribution to the exhibition Memories wants to emphasize the thin line between the presence and the past with all the experiences and memories that make us who we are. To “strip off” the appearance of a person. A reminder of the worthiness that lives within us.
