The cigarette hangs from her mouth as she contemplates its toxicity. She struggles to reconcile the negative energy created by negative people around her, with the power and allure of the smoke, the mystery behind its movement. As the cigarette gets smaller and smaller, she prays that the smoke will carry with it all of society’s woes and ugliness, to reveal in its wake a beauty of confidence.
Valencia, Acrylic on canvas, 50*70cm, 2022
She decides to walk away from the smoke, the pollution, the toxicity of society, and just focus on herself; on her potential… leaving the darkness behind her… Leaving behind a hard life, and keep forward, she stopped accepting the abuse. She now takes hold of her life, gripping with surety, carrying her confidence up high. She decides to restart, but this time her kids give her strength, and the responsibility of taking care of her life to give them a better future.
Her belief and confidence in herself gives her strength. She believes in her vision, unequivocally, despite the crowd around her. She is…. amazing.
